Seems that waterjets and art go together like, well, waterjets and job shops! This time, it's a 1,400 pound (640 kg) aluminum and bronze sculpture in a hospital. If you look at the pictures of the art, you can see why a waterjet was used--the intricate smooth curves and fine detail are easy to get with a waterjet and a challenge with other machining methods. The other thing to note is that the artist is in Ohio and the job shop is in North Carolina. Once you draw a part using CAD software, you can send it just about anywhere to be made.
